LGBT World Beside Competes for the Appeltje van Oranje 2025 – vote for us!

Great news! LGBT World Beside has made it to the final 50 contenders for the prestigious Appeltje van Oranje 2025! This is a recognition of our role as an essential part of Dutch society, where since 2018 we have been passionately committed to the rights, safety, and integration of LGBTI+ refugees.

The Oranje Fonds awards the Appeltje each year to initiatives that help build an inclusive society—and that is exactly what we work towards every day. Out of 348 entries, we’ve been selected to advance, a testament to the dedication of our volunteers and the impact we make. We are also the only shorlisted organization from the Netherlands that focuses on supporting LGBTI+ community.

Now we need your help! From May 19 to May 28, a crucial online public voting round will take place. The winner of this public vote will automatically be nominated for an Appeltje van Oranje. Just imagine what this would mean for our organization: a beautiful bronze statue designed by Princess Beatrix, a €25,000 cash prize, and an award ceremony with Queen Máxima at Noordeinde Palace!
