International Transgender Visibility Day is an annual celebration held on March 31st. The holiday was created to support transgender people and raise awareness of the discrimination they face.

International Transgender Visibility Day was established in 2009. It was initiated by Rachel Crandall-Crocker, a transgender activist from Michigan, USA, who said that the LGBT community is missing a holiday dedicated to trans people. At that time, there was only Transgender People’s Remembrance Day dedicated to victims of transphobic crimes, but there was no holiday dedicated to living transgender people.

Within the framework of this day, film screenings and art exhibitions, ribbon campaigns, meetings of activists, actions on the Internet and other events are held.
